The Help Desk Technician provides technical support to end users by responding to help desk requests regarding hardware and software issues. Installs and troubleshoots hardware and software related issues.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responds to help desk tickets/requests regarding hardware and software issues.
Installs computers, monitors, printers, software, software upgrades.
Troubleshoots software applications and hardware issues (PC’s, printers, scanners, etc.).
Upgrades and configures system software/hardware. Maintains active directory, sets up new users, resets passwords/logins, processes user requests.
Sets up mobile phone devices and assigns users.
Installs CAD software licensing and upgrades
Assists with training on MS Office, mobile devices and phone systems.
Assists with special projects/implementations and other duties as assigned.
May assist CFO and CEO with IT projects.
Restores deleted or corrupt files from back-ups.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, understanding of Windows servers (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.), and wireless networking. Technical knowledge in order to troubleshoot and solve problems with hardware or software, organized, analytical, able to prioritize tasks, requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborative, time management, self-starter, able to work under time constraints, excellent interpersonal skills, customer service mindset.
SQL, crystal reports, Shortel, familiarity with CAD software, Network+ and Security+, manufacturing, FTP, VPN. 1-2 years of experience as help desk technician is preferred.
Education Level / Required Certification:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from a 2-year technical school is preferred or equivalent education and experience.
Must have valid driver’s license and own transportation for travel between plants, may be required to work off hours in emergencies or on special projects/ implementations. Physical demands include standing, kneeling, squatting, using ladders, hand tools and lifting up to 30 pounds. Supports 3 sites. Will spend time on plant floor and be exposed to odor of plastics. Requires wearing proper PPE when in plant.
